Hi Guys,

My housemates and a I all own ok-ish spec PC's and I spent a lot of time over the summer installing gigabit Ethernet round the house, so I was wondering if anyone could recommend some decent games to play over LAN?

Age of Empires 3 and Rome: Total War are the current favorites but was wondering if anyone had any more modern recommendations! I don't really mind the genre of game as long as its a good laugh!

Thanks

I know civ 4 has lan capability, cant remember if 5 does..
Could probably get supreme commander up and running as well

Also obligatory oldschool UT GOTY recommendation :D

Why don't you sort of go online, all on the same server so you still have the team talk in the room going on.

Then you can play anything you want, glory days.

-Starcraft 2 (You need online access though)
-Supreme Commander 1 + 2
-Company of Heroes
-Killing Floor
-Left 4 Dead 1 + 2
-Call of Duty: World at War (Coop campaign and Zombie mode)
-Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars

Just some ideas...

LAN days.. Been awhile.. We used to play Counter Strike, UT, and even Half Life Deathmatch..

The leccy meter used to whizz round :D

We played BF3 LAN recently but it was still over the Internet and playing 3 instances of the licence behind the same router was a problem..

My suggestion is CS.. Low end graphics and still decent. Been very heavily modded now though so it's lost the appeal for me.

whoa a lot of good suggestions here! I used to do play Counter Strike with my old housemates so it may be time to bring that back! I guess what I need to do is sit and wait for the steam sales to pick some of these up. I have Civ4 knocking around somewhere that I could install and give that a bash. 2 of us play shogun total war but it gets a bit boring having to watch while the other fights.
