Which is better value for money? Is it worth pushing the extra tenner for the X6? Will be used for gaming and day to day use alongside the Steelseries Sensei.
Also with the X6 if you use the arrow keys for gaming and some of the surrounding keys for other stuff (such as on the numpad) then its a big stretch for your fingers to do as the gap between the arrow keys and the numpad is bigger due to the removal feature.
Thats how I game, and while the X6 seemed well built, nice to use, I couldn't cope with almost having to lift all my fingers of the arrow keys while in a game to try and press another button that is usually close by to me.
The keys felt really cheap, wobbly and loud. The keys on a £8 logitech are firmer and quieter. Also it just doesn't seem quite right, it seemed too low and crampt. The wrist rest was too short to even make contact with my very small hands.
The backlight was distracting in the dark and useless in the light. The F-keys are far too small.
I am on the verge of purchasing a new keyboard and the X4 was the top of the list so far. It was either a cheapish logitech for £10 - £15 or the sidewinder..
I bought an X4 a few weeks ago, and find it great. Not sure where PanMaster was seeing wobbly keys, as these feel great. Macro keys are a nice feature to have as well.
Looking at various reviews i can't recall anyone stating the keys were wobbly / substandard or having major build quality flaws. Shame it's out of stock now! Annoying. Anything else match it for the price?

Maybe Ocuk gave me a dodgy one but they were wobblier than a knackered 10 year-old beige IBM I use. They made an easily audible rattling sound if I moved them side-to-side.
I tried placing my hand into the usual WASD position and it felt really uncomfortable. My little finger was at a bad angle twisting to reach the left shift. My hands are really small but I like to stretch so the keys must have decent height and spacing.
Best keyboard I have ever had (and I have bought/used many) is the 'Cherry' - it has taken whatever punishment me and my hamfists give it for the past three years; also good for some gaming. OcUK seem to be out of stock of the Cherry at the moment though.
I don't know about the X4, I had an X6, well 3 of them over a year (MS replaced 2 of them). The X6 had a flaw with its rubber dome membrane. After a while, it moves out of position slightly. You start to see a key doesn't respond to a key press, and that's ur sign.
