*Mass Effect 3 Singleplayer Thread* (may contain spoilers)

Received a demo key with my copy of Kingdoms of Amalur (and was somewhat tempted to download it for the omni-blade dagger unlocks), but I really don't want to spoil anything - want to preserve that feeling of being blown away by sheer epicness :D

I couldn't get away with the first one, gave up reasonably early on as it was too much like hard work but I quite enjoyed the second. Will definitely pick this one up at some point but most likely when it's about a tenner like I did with the second.

I have not played it yet..but did watch the entire demo on eurogamer, and its looks epic..proper big sci-fi space opera epic

Briefly played the demo at the weekend when I got an advanced code through the Facebook app. Didn't wanna play it too much, saving it for the full game :)

I loved the previous 2 and got this on preorder, but unsure if i want to play the demo or just wait until release and not spoil anything. I'm out with the missus tonight so will decide whether to get it down, really looking forward to playing it though, so its tempting.

It doesn't really spoil anything, I'd say. I skipped through all the cutscenes and just stuck to the fighting. Didn't upgrade any powers either.

I've been playing catchup on games due to MMOs...

I finished ME2 before I played ME1, I cannot beat the second stage of Matriach Benezia on ME1, getting well cheesed off with it!, I want to take my character all the way through and the clock is ticking until ME3. Might give it another crack tonight.

From memory, concentrate on the commandos first, Bonezia keeps to the top level so stay away. Why class are you? Make sure all your amour and weapons are fully upgraded too!

I've only recently completed Mass Effect 2 and I was left frustrated by the fact that your squadmates lives aren't really in your hands in the final battle. Annoying if you want to get the trophy/achievement on your first playthrough. I had full Paragon but for some reason Miranda's Paragon conversation choice was never selectable, so she died in the final mission in a cutscene completely out of my control. Also, randomly, Jack died in one of the very first scenes which was annoying to say the least as Miranda died due to me losing her loyalty for siding with Jack in an argument. :/

Your squadmates lives are fully in your hands, as long as you do all of there loyalty missions and pick the right people for the job on the suicide mission then everyone will survive. The Paragon selection choice not being selectable is strange though if you had full Paragon, only thing I can think of is it bugged somehow.

If you get three and you don't want to take your previous save over because of the deaths just start a fresh playthrough, I would imagine BioWare will give people without previous saves some sort of choice on who lives and who dies.

That's the thing, there's no real indication who is the best person for the job, it's complete trial and error, except for the blindingly obvious part where you need someone proficient in biotics to hold the shield up. I did all the loyalty missions, which is why I was annoyed when Jack was the first to die. When you go through the relay, you get the cutscene of the ships chasing you, Jack died in that cutscene where I had absolutely zero input. I just felt really cheated that's all, especially as I took her side during an argument.

You didn't upgrade your shields, armour or weaponry on the Normandy SR-2 if your crew died. As for best person for the job, isn't it obvious? The skill sets were tech, command and biotic. There are at least two people who are candidates for each of those roles.
