It's no better than my previous build and I'm just losing hope...

Any advice ?

whoa, that's a lot of spaghetti! Are there no holes in the case down the side of the motherboard, to allow you to hide cables behind the panel?

If not, my recommendation would be to get a case that has cable management.

There's only so much you can do in a case that doesn't.

But to tidy it up a bit you could try cable clips, clip all the cables that are within reach of each other together so they aren't spread out as much. That would be a start.

No space behind the panel...

I just moved her from one old case to another... If I start treating her with a new PSU and case she'll start getting feisty :(

PSU can pop at any time but it's just a backup server hence the disks. Maybe a cheap fractal arc + new PSU would sort it out

get some cheap thin cable ties, pull cables to the outside of the drive cage and cable tie the cables to the holes on the drive cage (so the cables are between the drive cage and the side panel). this would drastically improve air flow through case. if you can use the holes at the front of the case all the better but if the cables are to short to stretch you may have to pull out a drive or two and use the ones towards the middle of the case, before replacing the drives. i'd also use a fair few cable ties on the ribbon cables to get them looking more like round ones as ribbons are notorious for wrecking air flow.

Failing that if you're not wanting to spend any more then this is probably your best best -

Also if you can be bothered look at getting a sleeving kit. Removing sight of the yellow, black and red wires makes the insides look so much neater.

Also this might be hard to explain. Based on the assumption that the PSU is at the bottom.
Move the 2 hard drives to the bottom. And then disconnect that cable for the 5th from top hard drive and extend it from another point. That'll completely remove that bottom left corner batch of cables. Also your best bet is to try and group those sata cables together. Or see if you can find shorter ones.

Show some respect to your veteran elders dude ...

She's 10 years old, fought life and limb for our country and still manages a respectable 500mbps over the network

Unfortunately due to the abysmal location of the 20/24 pin socket and without buying a new case, no matter what you do it's still going to look bad.

:D
