Idle Bluescreen

A few days ago after discussing settings and other things with somebody with pretty much the same setup as mine I got my overclock settings to what I thought was stable.

The computer runs fine under load both playing games and when running a intel burn test for 20 loops.

I have recently found that the computer bluescreens when idle, I will just simply be watching a youtube video not even touching the mouse of keyboard and BAMM, audio skips constantly and I get bluescreen error 124 (Which I already know is hardware/overclock related).

My settings can be seen here. I'm unsure what I need to do as it's fine after tests yet continues to bluescreen :/

Thanks for any information!

hey, sorry to hear about the problem your having, if you havent already I'd test your memory with mem test or something similar one stick at a time just in case.

Ran a mem test which passed. Tried my VCore at 1.35 but it spikes to 1.42 while playing games which personally I think is too risking to run at. For the time being I've gone down the 4.4Ghz at 1.305Vcore and see if it still does it. Think I probably have the worst chip ever!

i would try to drop you OC a bit more see if the stops it i was running my Phenom 2 x6 @4.2ghz playing games no problem but when i tried to play movies or even at idle it would crash out i knocked it back to 4ghz and it runs fine

Yeah I have knocked it down to 4.4Ghz and it seems to be running a lot better, the VCore for gone from 1.40 to 1.33 and so far no bluescreens. 4.5Ghz must be a weak spot for my chip :/

Just got another bluescreen while watching YouTube. I have no idea what to do. I can't see how it can be fine in games and under full load but then crash while doing the simplest of tasks :/

I use the same motherboard, and had a similar issue, although i'm using offset voltage instead of absolute values. It was solid in prime/IBT and high load situations, but bluescreened/froze at idle and low loads. What solved it for me was setting c3/c6 State Support to disabled. Give it a try. :)

See as the crash allways happend when on YouTube and the fact that Nividia just released a new driver after only just releasing one a few weeks ago I think it may have been down to the drivers. Since updating them I haven't had any bluescreens yet and hopefully it has stopped the problem (touch wood!)

Thanks for the feedback. Hoepfully it will be ok :)

Have tried a sugestion in another forum to disable Adobe Flash hardware acceleration. I'm guessing it must be a GPU problem seeing as it so far has allways been while in the middle of a YouTube video. Fingers crossed this works.

If anybody has any other suggestions thou please let me know!

Nope. Disabled hardware acceleration and left a video to play and again exact same screen. I like how I was advised to buy a Nividia card and so far it's just proven to be a pain in the ass!

Have you tried without the overclock altogether? Also can you up the Load-line anymore or is 6 the max?

So far I'm trying as much as I can before disabling my overclock as I don't want to take it off. Currently trying a fix which so far has been so far for a few hours but yes this will have to be my next step
