And 1 of these from ebay cheap, i am aware this is a different model, but its nearly identical less the hdmi connection

Not great for 3 monitor gaming with the rather large bezel but, the original screen i have is less than 12 months old and i didnt want to buy 3 screens from new with a perfectly good one here already.

The gfx card i have is this.

My question is, what cables do I need? im not sure what i need, nor do i know which connections on the card I connect each to. A little help pls guys.

Wasnt sure if this was gfx or monitor section so just put it here as its sort of both.

For two of the monitors you can take your pick with either DVI or HDMI.

However, for the third monitor you will need to use an active mini-displayport to DVI (or HDMI) adapter. Something like this one.

Here is a more comprehensive list of AMD validated dongles, only the mini displayport to DVI and mini displayport to HDMI ones are of use to you.

Be careful as there are cheaper passive-type dongles being sold (often with the "passive" bit cleverly hidden in the description or missing altogether), to be clear - these passive adapters will not work for your use.

So, the way i see this, the screen with no hdmi i can just use the DVI to the DVI on the card, the other 2, one has to be on the hdmi from the screen to hdmi on the card, and the last has to be connected to the mini dp on the card with a dvi cable using a mini dp adapter such as the HIS one? making sure its active and not passive?

edit

gtx680's are now able to to 3 monitors arent they? Then the old question arises, ati or nvidia :/

Once i have the 3 screens, i want to upgrade the HD6950. No idea what to upgrade to though

Correct, But for the sake of repeating it, as an active dp>dvi has already been linked correctly.
Moniters Card
HDMI <> HDMI
DVI <> DVI
DVI <> DP (using adapter linked)

Although personally I use 2x DVI, 1x DP on 6950. So I can't say for sure the HDMI will work, but as HDMI and DVI offer the same quality plus its very unlikely you'll be running sound thur that hdmi port. It shouldnt make any difference to you, if you need to use 2x DVI + 1x DP.

Thanks mate, thats just what i was looking for. All i need is the 3rd monitor to get here when i get paid next week, and the mini dp adapter and il be rocking bf3 triple screens. Cannot wait! then to save for a 7970 after that.

Also, what kind of performance in games do you get on your 6950?
