Hey,

Whats a better alternative than the default BT home hub 3 you get with bt infinity? The only issue I have is that the range doesn't cover the whole house.

What replacement should I get? did you get a replacement?

I got the 80 meg internet package.

The top of the range routers are

Linksys E4200
Netgear N900 (WNDR4500)
Asus RT-N66U
Belkin N900

All dual band and supporting upto 450Mbps on each band. They all have loads of internal antennas.

For an 80Mbps connection I'd recommend getting one of these for wireless and getting a 3x3 receiver (i.e. those supporting upto 450Mbps connection) to maximise connection speed.

Thanks for the replies.

out of the list you gave me what is the best for stability, speed and range being the most important?

from reading the threads on the bt infinity website http://www.draytek.co.uk/products/vigor2750.html is meant to be the very good, built in vdsl modem so no need for the btor modem.

ocuk don't do it so will have to look else where, ontop of that its £160+. there are 2 versions, 1 with voip connectivity(2750vn) and 1 without(2750n) the one with the voip connectivity obv being more expensive.

Yeah the Draytek 2750n is a very good router/modem , a lot use it with Infinity :) also if you are willing to take a risk with no support etc then try the Auction site ( famous one ) i have a mate who picked up a 6months old one for £95 inc postage , it looked brand new all boxed with cables and manual etc , he has it working with Infinity for the last month no problems :)

I had a catalogue of issues with the 2850n which (despite numerous attempts from DrayTek support to rectify them) I ended up getting a refund on

I understand that the 2870 has two versions of a chip, one of which is being blamed for some problems with the 2870 and Infinity

Saying that there are those who run the 2870 and 2850 without issue, so .............

I think they are all pretty similar, you can but booster ariels
