Anyone got any experiance in what needs to be done?

KTM EXC 250, is it possible, if so, what do I need. Is it easy enough to do on my own, am I going to have to remove the loom from the bike? Ect ect.

Anyone done it, also, how expensive will it be?

you have to register it with dvla, then fit lights/indicators/horn/mirrors ect and mot it

Do you know of any list of requirements for road MOT?

Like you say:

Indicators
Light
Horn
Mirrors (not sure these are required...)

Daytime MOT you need only a horn + rear reflector. A stop light is required if the bike is capable of more than 25mph iirc.

BTW, there is no such thing as a separate daytime MOT, you will have a normal MOT issued but with an advisory for use only under daylight hours; at times not of seriously reduced visibility i.e. fog.

MX bike on road are sooooo funny, I used to ride a mates CR500 on a short private piece of tarmac :) if you put it in top gear just over tickover then lent forward and opened it up it'd just spin straight up and leave black lines, lean back and it'd just power wheely. Man that thing scared me but it's probably given me my favourite bike memories so far.

Everything seems to be giving me the green light, insurance wise, cheap as chips! Compared to the 1098S anyway. All round fun in all weather. Easily convertable to road legal (it seems anyway).

Hmmmmm...

Maybe the only thing is 2-stroke MX engines usually don't like constant speed part throttle use so might not be the best for any longer road journeys. They seem to love accelerating all the time :) They're usually sensitive to good 2-stroke oil and good maintenance, probably not best to go down really long hills off-throttle as there wont be much lubrication for the bearings.

i dont thnk you need indicators tbh,its a matter of if they are fitted they have to be working ect, same for mirrors, youll need to fit a killswitch also if one isnt already fitted, and for the price of headlights you might aswell stick one on
