Y.Toure
Scholes
Wilshire
Modric
Cabaye
Lampard
Ramires
Other

Reasons why I'd prefer not to include Gerrard in this poll is that I've only got 6 names for the CAM poll so if I save Gerrard for that it makes 7 options apiece (8 including the other option) and I'm anal like that :o

Once again remember guys this isn't based solely on this season :)
 
Very tough between Toure and Modric, but for overall play I'd have to go for Toure.

But yeah, Scholes out of those for all time.
 
toure and modric are completely different types of midfielders imo don't really see how they can be in the same poll. toure should be swapped for gerrard in this selection and another with the likes of toure, palacios, sandro, park etc created

I'll be honest I included Scholesy in the poll because of how good he was when he returned this past season.... we shouldn't forget though prior to his return his form made the decision to retire in the first place a fairly easy one....

well, not these days but there's no denying that until recently, his work rate was second to none, lungs of steel. that's what i think midfielders like him, zokora, palacios, toure, sandro are there for, to chase and break up play with a physical presence. modric, gerrard are a more dynamic and creative force.

i understand it is a bit difficult to create the options for centre though
 
My thinking with the options are that all the midfielders are for want of a better term box to box i.e. they're not sitting/tackling DM's but nor are they given a free role behind a striker or chucked out wide (well I guess Modric has been but that's down to dodgy management)
 
Lol, I said that in his last one. If its not last season only then its Gerrard in my opinion. Without doubt Yaya this season though.
 
Lampard is still a good midfielder. I dont understand why everyone states hes not and yet he still manages to bang in 20 goals or so every season
 
Cabaye got a vote and it wasn't even me :p

Voted Toure. If anyone else wins we should close the football forum due to a sheer lack of footballing knowledge being available.
