EVGA REMOVE EVBOT FROM 680 CLASSIFIED CARDS

Nvidia are losing the plot...If thet want to keep the enthusiasts, they need to wake up and smell the coffee.

You just beat me to the post there lol!

And also that means there gonna target everyone! byebye mr lightings as well.

Probably trying to kill off overclocking completely.

Lower priced stock cards or premium priced pre-overclocked cards.

Just like intel with their two versions. the K and non K.

This.

Nvidia dont like seeing benchmarks that put overclocked 670s near stock 680 performance. They seem to think it damages their sales.

Its either that or there is something they are trying to hide. ;)

It just makes no sense. If you have the card already, I don't see it being a problem and the EVbot will work just fine but this was one of the main reasons of buying the EVGA Classy cards. I will be ordering another MSI Lightning with all my water cooling goodies on Thursday but I see they are trying to ruin the 1.21V with that also :(

I have just made some phone calls...

It appears that Nvidia is attempting to keep the performance differential intact from its unreleased "original" 680 that was withheld at the 600 series launch.
From what I gather with people who know about such things, this may portend a much earlier release of the withheld card than was projected just a few months ago.

This appears to be all about Nvidia milking the customer to the last red cent (since AMD has fallen flat on its face) and removing the ability to truly push ones cards into higher performance levels is being done to simply increase the profit margin.

It appears that Nvidia has forgotten the key to its overwhelming success. Providing the experienced user with the options to increase performance levels.

Once you start removing features to increase ones profit levels, you are heading downhill as a company.
It appears that Nvidia is doing just that. In my opinion this is a serious mistake that may increase profits "now" but lead to issues should such behavior be contiuned by Nvidia.

+1 for profit margins, -5 for end users
Greed is a terrible thing, if allowed to become company policy. Nvidia may be able to get away with this given the current state of videocard development between AMD and itself, but further down the road could open the door to Nvidia becoming marginalized.

I like how he bashes AMD and says they fell flat on their face, Can't be more wrong tbh.

My EvBot arrives Wednesday according to my email,
so with a bit of luck I'll be ok.

What I can't understand is why Evga would continue to ship Classifieds
without the EvBot connector and not inform buyers/retailers.

This obviously falls squarely at Nvidias feet as they are calling the tunes
as they are with the Lightnings

Good you got one coming :) It is a sales ploy, as they would have known ages ago. I thought EVGA might be better and at least give customers buying the classys a heads up at least. Nvidia will lose a massive following if they try this with the next gen of cards.

If I didn't like my 3D so much I'd be tempted to return my cards and the EvBot and to try the Red side myself

It could be team Red for me next time I look at GPU's to buy.

To be fair, I was a massive team red basher, and when I first got my 7970's AMD was proving me right, but they have changed the way their drivers are created (new team etc), my 7970's have been nothing but brilliant to be fair.

This just backs up the rumours/feelings that Nvidia shafted us by rebadging the 660 as the 680

3D does keep me tied to Nvidia for a bit but by the time I upgrade, 4K monitors could be mainstream (2 years maybe) and I will be ready for some 4K 3D :)

I respect AMD for at least taking the bubble wrap and cotton wool from it's cards.

It also backs up DM's (who would have thought!) post a while back stating the full kepler wouldn't be much faster than the current kepler, bit of overclocking would match it and Nvidia don't like it.
