ASUS soundcard Windows 8 BETA drivers, Finally.

Essence ST has no Windows 8 yet, hope support is not dropped due to being PCI. Only got the card last year and hoping to use for many years yet.

Shouldn't have really bought a PCI card, it's all but phased out.
I don't think I've seen any PCI lanes on the 1155 boards I've used.
Though I see absolutely no reason why there isn't any drivers, I'd certainly expect you to get some.

I would have preferred PCI-E but my motherboard (at time) had no spare PCI-E slots remaining. My new Gigabyte Z77 does have a regular PCI slot.

It's shocking that we have to revert to a 3rd party.

I wouldn't mind if they just paid this guy and hosted the drivers themselves!

They actually threatened him with legal action at one point despite the fact he was doing them a favour! This is why he is a soundcard driver celebrity no matter how geeky that is lol

**edit**

When I say 'they' I actually mean Creative. Afaik ASUS hasn't :)

I've not had my card that long, only used the current drivers directly from Asus' site. So I see there are a couple of alternatives, but what tangible reason is there for changing? Mine 'seem' to work fine, so why are the others worth using instead (curious, maybe it'll be something I think I'll benefit from, maybe it won't be)?
