Does this deal make a 680 worth it?

The 680 is a great card and that is a great price compared to the other 680s. AMD have pulled things a lot closer with winning performances in some games and losing performances in others. Nothing between them.

I would say the best value for money at the moment lies with the 7950 though and unless Nvidia is something you want/need, I would be looking at Team Red.
 
If you are locked into Nvidia, that's a decent price for an exceptional cooler (looks the bis in person as well) and for £40 more than a similar custom cooled 670 i personally would choose this over the 670 (that's me though)

However, if you're not locked into Nvidia and you have no loyalties to team green, the best bang for buck is in the red corner - more so thanks to loads of free games.

With AMD's new drivers, a good clocked 7950 will be ahead of most 670s and £70 cheaper on average. Without counting the price of the freebies. Or blag yourself the top end 7970 what is clock for clock 5% quicker than the 7950.

Lets say that i'm set on Nvidia, i'm not, but the red vs green debate is a separate decision in my eyes. So i guess this is, if i decide on Nvidia, should i get this card.
To be honest, by the time i buy this deal will of expired, but something similar may be available. The free games dont sway me, i'm always getting games from my work, either free or greatly reduced. I guess i could always sell them.

I'm not using anything at the moment, have been out of the loop for a while, will be building this weekend and using an old 9800gtx until next payday.
 
I would, for the TF3 cooler and for top end Nvidia i personally would be happy to splash the extra £40 over the 670. If you get a good clocker then its a bonus, if not...who cares.
 
Great stuff, i'm tempted to just whack it on my credit card and worry about it latter.
That would probably end up negating the saving though, lol. will resist for now.

Showing out of stock. If I ordered this, would it be accepted, ie would I get one on backorder at the sale price?
