looking for advice on a system that can do the following.

i'd like to be able to play skyrim/bf3 but i don't need them max settings though a decent one would be nice.

it'd then need to be able to run at least 2 monitors, though 3 is what i currently have and would like to keep it that way, however the third can be used for my laptop. 2 of the screens have eithr vga or dvi connection, and the other has hdmi/dvi

budget is £600 - £700, though the lower the better

i don't require keyboard/mouse/speakers/monitors/os as i have these.

ideally i'd like to be able to put this machine in a cold storage room, and then run some cables through a hole in the wall so that i then only have the mouse/keyboard and screens in my office room. if this makes a difference at this stage i don't know. because of this the case looks don't matter, keeping it cool would be more important, and noise also woudln't be an issue.

i don't plan to overclock

i don't plan to overclock
The MSI board apparently has locked voltage options so overclocking that lovely 3570K CPU will be poor.

:p The mobo is his own choice I guess. The Gigabyte board is good, I just keep picking the MSI as it has a nicer PCB than the tacky looking Gigabyte mobos at that price range and if you aren't aiming to overclock it is a good choice.

thanks for the quick reply. how many monitors would allow me to use?

out of interest, what could you come up with nearer £700 area? iinterested to know how much better i could get with an additional £100

We wouldn't be in this predicament if Gigabyte stopped making their budget mobo PCBs with that horrid tacky blue/white theme! :(

Or add a SSD.

For a £700 budget it would allow you to squeeze in a nice SSD for your OS, main apps and a couple of games. I also popped in a nicer Gigabyte board which would allow you to look into overclocking once your confidence grew at a later date. ;)

EDIT: Christ we are all on the ball tonight.. 3 specs in <2 minutes..

Apart from the colour, is it rubbish?;)

Mmmmh, the only other thing that bugs me is the vertical SATA ports.. ;) The MSI has them but it looks nicer on the eyes so I can forgive it.

Nah in all seriousness if you want to skimp a little on the mobo then the D3H is still a solid board. :p
