Anyone have a good estimate of the 8970 launch? Has their been any news / decent rumors at all? Will it likely be Jan like the 7xxx flagship?

Seriously though. Late Q1 at the earliest, Q2 being the most likely.
Around the same prices as always.

So release prices are like £500ish?

You can pick 7970s up for £300 now how much performance gain we talking? I really doubt 200 quid difference?

After the 7890 rumours and "launch", I'm not putting any faith at all in any rumours, published or otherwise.

They run these rumours to get page hits, and often get it totally wrong anyhow. May as well just wait, patiently, for release.

first to launch should be 8850 and 8870 then 8950 and 8970 after a month or more.

He recently posted that AMD have cancelled Steamroller, and all future "big core" desktop chips. Something AMD then immediately denied.

So... jury is out, really.
