this is getting some good press at the moment - its winning awards and isnt even out yet

could go either way

1) super cheesy woo america film (which would be lame)
2) good political thriller with a bit of action too

I realise some people hated the hurt locker (I liked it! :p) but well there you go:

The fact that Kathryn Bigelow is directing and producing is the one thing that has given me hope that it won't be an American "yeehaa" fest.

How factually correct is this Bin Laden film? I hear they spoke with many CIA operatives.

Was it really for pro Obama propaganda why information on the siege was told?

I started watching this and I thought it was far from entertainment and full with typical lies about the war on terror. Not that i don't believe that isreali torture people in such a way, i don't see why they needed to make a movie about it. Only reason to make a movie about such a terrible worthless story is to further the idea that the whole osama bin ladin story was real. When a lot of people have accepted a long time ago that was all just a fabrication, a fake enemy, created to encourage the war on terror.

But how is watching this rubbish entertaining and for it too get awards just shows how bad the award ceremonies are because the movie was not very good anyway.

Utterly awful prow war on dem Muslims propaganda piece, it was so ridiculous in parts I was shaking my head.

Not only if you ignore that, the acting and filming was pretty terrible as well.

excellent film

very authentic, very carefully done not to be one way or the other, almost to the point where it sits on the fence, which maybe is the reason its so good, it represents both the best and worst of the war on terror

some good acting too, dan, maya and mark strong being the standouts
impressive the pace the story moves at for something spanning 10 odd years, it makes one smooth flowing story without jumping about annoyingly

the silence during the assault scene is perfect, just professionals going about their job, no action film gun-ho glory at all

all the stuff about pro obama is rubbish, it mentions him once in passing and shows nothing of the big decision

the pro torture stuff is rubbish too - after about half an hour (after abu ghraib) the attitude towards detainees completely changes as it did in real life

I was disappointed with The Hurt Locker so I'm a bit wary about giving this a watch.

I'm expecting it to be style over substance just like THL.

I'm looking forward to seeing this one. I don't really care about all the controversy surrounding it because I think it's hilarious that they are trying to suggest they didn't use torture on terrorists. Pull the other one...
