Having some problems getting sleep mode working on my pc. Decided to enable it recently but noticed after it goes to sleep it constantly wakes itself or it appears to be asleep but when I try to wake it nothing happens so have to restart the computer.

I've noticed an additional 700+ power on counts in past week on ssd life because of this

Any idea what could be causing it?

No idea, but I do find the thread title amusing at this time of the morning :)

Yeah, saw title and thought should be in GD:p

Have you checked event viewer and scheduled tasks for anything that might be causing it to wake up? What about Wake On LAN?

On a slightly different note. What's the concern with the SSD? Only recently added one and wasn't aware of life issues for power on. Thought it was mainly read/writes?

Do you have anything plugged in? Often my PC wakes from sleep just because the mouse is plugged into the USB port.

I had a similar problem with my old computer. At random one day it refused to go into sleep mode, in the end I solved the issue with a reinstall of windows.

With an SSD I would not be to concerned with sleep mode, the computer should cold boot very quickly making sleep sort of redundant.

have you tried using
Code:
powercfg –lastwake

I had to stop the samsung ssd magician from autorunning as that kept waking up my pc with a similar issue.

Says Wake History Count -0

Problem solved, going to complain to samsung me thinks. Every time my computer (and myself were asleep) little did I know samsung magician was causing it to restart itself every 2 minutes for a total of 918.

Do you think this would affect the life of the ssd or is it fine?
