Hi all...

Not been here very long but enjoying myself.

I have a question though. Earlier I was going to PM somebdoy but noticed I couldn't.
Is this not an option round these parts or do I have to earn the privelege ?

Cheers..

The PM system is disabled on this forum. You need to click on 'Trust' below your post to activate it, then you can open another user's Trust to send them a message via e-mail.

I guess it keeps private communications off the forum, it's one big thing less to moderate.

Trust isn't the same - trust just emails the person. PM's take up storage on the server waiting for people to log in and read them and when you've got hundreds of thousands of users it takes a lot of resources and slows the forums down.

PMs would probably have to be checked by mods, have higher server costs and the forum would have to be changed, which is illegal or something.

It's a feature provided as standard in vbulletin but is disabled by OCUK. It would not be 'illegal' for them to re enable it.

It's actually illegal for any changes to be made to the OcUK forum, that's why nothing gets added ;)
