AMD accuses former top employees of leaking over 100,000 documents to Nvidia

I'm just saying there's been threads on here before about this.
Yeah I mean the first article is 2008 I remember reading it on here.

The last one I can remember was an Intel guy going to AMD who stole loads of stuff, it was seemingly accepted by most(publically) that the guy did it of his own accord and never gave the stuff to AMD, he was more likely trying to screw his ex employer than help his new one. Though maybe I remember that wrong and AMD asked him to, can't remember, I can't remember anything similar for AMD to Nvidia, Nvidia to AMD in recent times though.

There are normally things in contracts where if you moved from say AMD to Intel you couldn't be employed in the same area of work, and its generally messy anyway. It wouldn't remotely surprise me that people move between the companies, or to 3rd party companies and spill the beans. IE AMD or Intel hire employee's off the other by giving some other company some cash to hire the guy, and then have him tell everything he knows.

I wouldn't put it past Nvidia with some of their previous shenanigans. From a purely business perspective I suppose it's a great idea that gives you a massive advantage over the competition, unless you get caught. Will be interesting to see if the allegations are true.

Ah yes, thats probably what I was remembering.

Maybe Nvidia used the top secret AMD documents in the creation of the GTX 480, well it did run really hot, and mega power hungry...! :o

More important than if you get caught is, who gets in trouble and how much money did you make. If you end up making a GPU 10% faster than you were going to for a comprehensive win and it gets you an extra billion in sales, then some flunkey employee goes to jail and you get a 100mil fine, you've done well ;)

Did these documents tell Nvidia how to build a time machine as the article says this happened in 2012 :p
