What suggestions might you have for Co-op games for Kids?

i know 3 kids aged : 6/7 girl, 8 Boy, 11 Girl
i'm looking for some co-op non competitive games, looking for more team play.

Minecraft is out at the moment. I'm looking for something we can all play so ideally a 4 player game, that non of them have played, if its educational all the better.

my thoughts were for RPGs (no internet offline required) because i want to encourage co-operation and team building. the family setup is a little difficult..

i was thinking maybe :
Dungeon Defenders
torchlight
tourchlight 2

any thoughts?

i dont might setting up a dedicated server if needed.

OCuk Suggestions
Trine 2,
Portal 2
Ghostbusters
Audiosurf
Titan Quest
Rayman Origins
Castle Crashers
Worms
Wii, Super Mario Bros

Cheers for the link SkeeterUK, will have a look through

Ninja_Ferret' right Boarderlands isn't what i'm looking for sorry SkeeterUK

ow no, dont get me wrong will look into them as they do fill most of the requirements :) and i know they have at least 1 Lego game already :)
so your suggestion is much appreciated Mp4

I dont think you can beat the lego games for kids for 2 player coop, I've been playing lego batman with my 6 year old and he absolutely loves it.

Magicka possibly although maybe thats more for slightly older than 6/7, not sure as personally never managed to get it to work!

Trine 2, again only 2 player and not sure for the youngest.

Not sure on the specifics you need but..

Portal 2 imo would be a fun game for kids, it will also help their puzzle solving abilities. :)
Borderlands 2 maybe tho maybe a bit hard for kids i dunno.
Ghostbusters is co-op i believe tho not sure if its easy enough for kids.
Audiosurf possibly for 2 player action with music and is cheap enough??
Worms games, not co-op in that sense per say but the girls could team up on the boy and would challenge the boy.

Also maybe this is helpful i dunno i just searched in google offline, co-op pc

Titan Quest
Rayman Origins (4 player)
Castle Crashers (4 player)
Torchlight
Torchlight II
Awesomenauts
Dungeon Defenders

As mentioned above, i forgot all about rayman origins. That would be perfect imo, up to 4 player coop and easy enough for the youngest to grasp.

many thanks for the feed back

Its a shame Minecraft is not on the list. If it's due to vandalism of each other's builds there may be scope within an adventure mod or some server plugins to limit this?

As you list Super Mario I guess you have a Wii? Mario Kart Wii has a number of co-op / team competition modes. My girl is nearly 6 and loves this.

If you have more than 1 Wii you might also look at Animal Crossing? Co-op is limited in that players can exist in the same town but may not that exciting for the older kids?

My 6 year old and 9 year old play minecraft survival at home. You can use one of the computers as a lan server so there is no reading obscene messages from other internet users. You can get a mod to lock chests and protect damage to your buildings. My kids enjoy it.

edited to say, they mostly work together, and share the mining.

Minecraft is great fun, not sure about the sharing aspect! My castle is mine, it has many booby-traps and you shall not steal it!
