I met a guy at i-series over the weekend, and he saw my computer and wanted it. I said i had no problems building him one but he wanted black/green.

he wanted a mobo with green highlights and also a watercooled titan (unfortunatly they are out of stock)he wouldnt use it really though, so hes saved 500 quid by going for a 680 at the moment.

can folks just check over the build to 1, see if ive missed anything (ram isnt a problem, ive got some ready to go)

he hasnt got a budget as such, but i dont want him spending money for the sake of it!

nope, he doesnt really care what psu he gets, i just had it in my head that the corsair pro series was a decent PSU.

glad i asked before buying now, whats the reason for the change?

I myself brought a corsair builders series, before joining this site, but everybody here says that XFX is the way to go, and after looking into it, it appears it is.

fair enough, just always had seasonic or corsair! (well, apart from my newest build, which i had a nzxt just because it was white!)

The XFX units are mostly built by Seasonic anyway, the new black edition XFX PSU's get superb reviews, I'd go with the Platinum one if the budget allows.

fair enough, xfx platinum it is!

not a budget as such, ive saved him £500 quid telling him he wont use a 690 or a titan to its full potential, he will only be running at 1080 i would imagine.

although i would love to do a build with one :o

nice spec tbh, don't like the m/b but then again wouldn't use all the extra bit's it offers so over priced for me, but for your build it will give great color scheme which is what he wanted anyway, agree with psu power not being needed or used, but XFX is about as good as you can get atm, with Seasonic still having some high pitch fan noise issues with some of there high end psu's. not all of them mind you, just some.

bronze, silver, gold, Platinum only alter the costs of using them, so unless your leaving it on 24/7 any would be fine, buying Platinum won't make it last any longer, just save you money on your bills while using it.

i bought and fitted one of these into my mates pc, who uses it as a gaming rig and also a 24/7 always on net pc, Antec EA 650w '80 Plus Platinum' Power Supply, price was very good and warranty was also, the money it will save him will pay for the psu over the life of it a few times over so was worth it, could have got a lower spec or power one but this one was on offer so couldn't say no to the price :)

Yeah I realised after I posted he would no longer need the 1000 watt now he's not having a titan/690.

Saying that though, I think he has his heart set on a titan in the not so distance future, just so he can tell me how much better his card is than mine Haha.

Cheers for the input guys. I hate putting specs together for other people!

aye, that was my thinking, surely they would be the cheaper ones, the guy im building for is more than happy with the one i selected now, as it gives him options to add the titans later if he feels he needs them
