Hi Folks,

System details in signature, I'm considering moving from air cooling to water cooling - 40% looks and 60% load temperatures for pushing my 7950. Also I've heard it can make you adorable to the young ladies having a nice wet PC at home...

So I'd love you input and ideas about how to setup a single loop - early pictures below! thanks guys!

Currently I have purchased the following bits from MM and OCUK clearances :)

  • Laing D4 Pump
  • Alphacool D5 Plexi pump top
  • Swiftech Micro Res v2
  • Magicool 280 Slim Radiator
  • 2m XSPC 1/2 / 3/4 white tubing

Still to purchase a GPU block and maybe a CPU block, I was going to just setup with GPU only to start with but with the limited space in my case I may have problems fitting everything in with the Megahalems still on the CPU. Also would add a 240 radiator to the front of the case.

Anyway :) excuse the awful photos my camera is broken and only have the iPhone to hand.

Planning Photos
1st up with the pump and reservoir in front of the PSU (not much if any room for a 240 radiator though with that little lot there...

Then switched around with the reservoir on the PSU and pump rotated...

This one shows that the radiator just fits in the roof and the two fans can just fit underneath to push air out through the radiator.

Going to have to dremel the two holes though to fit the inlet and outlet pipes through...

Can it not fit in the front with fresh air coming through it?

Im sure you can get the res mounted somewhere and still have the pump down there with a rad. Imo would look a lot neater and possibly cool better.

The 280 radiator is going in the roof with the 2 x 140mm fans, I will probably get a 240 radiator to go in the front. I was more interested in where the pump / reservoir would go and maybe I need to drop the reservoir and go for a T piece with a short fill tube?

One concern you may want to consider now is how you will clean the fan side of the radiator? Gonna be a pain to get to.

Can't really see that being a problem? fans will be exhausting air from inside the case and all intakes have filters. I've never had problems with dust build-up in this case before so shouldn't see it being a problem with a radiator either :)

In any case I can just remove the fans and vacuum the radiator and/or use a can of compressed air.
