Hi all,

First of all, I'd like to say that this is my first post on Overclockers Forums so... yeah...

I've been wanting to get a new PC for a while now. Mainly built for gaming but I don't mind if games such as Battlefield 3 or Metro 2033 run on medium settings, as long as the FPS is decent.

My price range would be around £700 (ish). This should include everything from a new case to operating system. I've got no previous experience with PC hardware so you guys will have to help me out here :(

I have an extremely basic knowledge of hardware hence why I'm asking you guys for help.

A friend of mine suggested getting an SSD (not sure how this would effect my price but he recommended at least a 120 GB) as well as the Corsair H100i to cool my CPU.

So yeah, I just wondered if any of you guys will be able to spec me a decent build? Thanks in advance, any help is greatly appreciated :)

Apologies for late Edit!!

I forgot to mention.
I've got a:
Qpad Mk-80 Keyboard
24" Asus VN247H Monitor
TT eSports Theron Gaming Mouse
and another smaller 19" Monitor, Samsung SyncMaster T190

Might need some speakers but they're really not necessary.

How about this?

That i5 can be overclocked :) Motherboard comes with a free cooler, I can't get a monitor as well in your budget and keep the rest high as possible but you could just use a HD TV and for te OS use Windows 8 Enterprise FREE trail for 3 months giving you the time to save up and get it at a later date.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Just to be clear, do you also need keyboard, mouse, speakers or a monitor.
An ssd is nice if your budget can afford it, so I would look at adding one at a later time.
You could use Win 8 evaluation for a few months, this would help put money towards better components. You would then have 3 months to save and if you don`t like it, you can always get Win 7.

Ah right, okay. Thanks :D Is there anything in that spec that you guys would compromise for another piece of hardware or a hardware upgrade from the ones listed? ... If that made any sense...
