Is it possible? I'm not obsessed with graphics but would like to be able to run the game on acceptable settings. Smooth gameplay is more important to me than graphics. I plan to build the machine myself. Thanks.

Well said, the 970 boards aren't great, the 990's are well reccomended espeically if overclocking. :)

Getting 4GB of RAM now-a-days is a bit silly really.

i'd swap the AR02 out for the AR01, bigger fan for £1 or so more. :)

The 970s are all right (they can take a 6300 to 5GHz with a good chip and decent cooling), but the 990 boards are better. I was just looking at minimum cost there.

OK thanks. So do you think my budget is realistic and will the game play OK with this setup? What kind of FPS am I likely to get and could I play on medium settings at least?

I'd imagine the minimum recommended spec (for reasonable performance) will be something like this. If you're concerned about the graphics settings you could spend a bit extra on a 7870.

I would keep saving and get something a bit better. As the game(BF4) is not due until the end of October beginning of November, that gives you about 3 months to save up another couple of hundred quid.

Yea I'll maybe so what I can save in the mean time. I couldn't see a disc drive in that recommended setup. Is it included with the tower?
