Rubbish camera? Maybe with the very early software that most of the reviews based their opinions on but with the newer software it is excellent and has a few stronger points over the GS 4 i.e.
- zoe mode, works better, you don't have to select the mode before hand and can apply a number of edits afterwards rather than just the one
- macro shots look better, more detailed and a more natural look
- video recording is better overall with the HDR mic., wide FOV, OIS
- captures more consistent usable shots due to OIS and very fast shutter and even more so when using zoe mode, absolutely superb for people with kids and/or pets
- better in low light conditions
Only areas where the GS 4 soundly beats the one is HDR photos, bright landscape conditions and when cropping/zooming.
Slower in the benchmarks yes, but in real world usage from my experience with both devices (both with the latest updates and with all the smart stuff disabled on the GS 4), the one feels smoother and faster throughout by a decent bit.
Screen is personal preference, not everyone likes SAMOLED and rather have LCD for the more natural look etc.
Storage is personal choice as well, about 26GB usable internal storage VS 9GB + SD slot
HTC one has superior speakers.
GS 4 has superior NLED.
GS 4 is easier to root and flash stuff etc.
Gs 4 has slightly better battery life + removable battery.
Design and software is personal preference. One has superior build/perceived quality but the gs 4 is more comfortable in the hand imo. Software wise, essentially more feature rich overall i.e. smarty stay, scroll, multi-tasking window etc. VS a more clean/minimal, unified feel version of android with some amazing apps i.e. the browser, gallery/camera app.
I prefer the front ans side design of the GS4 but prefer the look of the back and finish on the htc one
