Crucial SSDs: consistently faster speeds

Unlike other SSDs on the market, Crucial SSDs treat all data the same, regardless of whether it’s compressed or uncompressed. This is important because the files most people use everyday - videos, mp3s, advanced graphics files and zip files - are compressed files and thus unable to be compressed any further. While many SSDs on the market achieve faster speeds by acting as a sort of file compressor, many of the most common file types can’t be compressed, resulting in SSDs that often deliver drastically slower speeds than originally advertised. With the advanced technology of a Crucial SSD, however, you’ll never have this problem!

Crucial - quality you can depend on

As a brand of Micron, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of SSDs, we work with our engineers to design, refine, and support our drives.

Substantial performance. Substantial value.
If you bought a computer before 2011 and you’re looking to upgrade to an SSD, the Crucial® v4 SSD might be just what you’re looking for. Since most computers made before 2011 have slower data transfer capabilities than newer systems, they’re bestsuited for the Crucial v4 SSD, which was designed with these transfer speeds in mind. The Crucial v4 SSD features all the benefits and quality you’ve come to expect from Crucial SSDs over traditional hard drives: faster start-up times, faster data transfer speeds, and increased durability—all at a lower price than most high-performance SSDs. Why pay for extra performance you can’t use?

My first thought was Oooooooo but then looked and was :(

Its not a performance SSD for sure, but for someone looking to sample SSD or upgrade their laptop its pretty ideal and great value for money.

It still has 0.1ms random access time which is far quicker than any HDD. :)

I have one of these as a boot drive in my media Pc and it does a great job it boots considerably quicker than a mech drive.

So this would work ok as a Windows drive, and be a lot quicker than a standard mech drive like a samsung F3?

It would rape an F3 as a Windows drive or any other HDD for that matter, Windows is all about random access and even this 'slow' SSD has more then a normal HDD ever will have.

It will just mean Windows will load in 18 seconds instead of 15 seconds like on a 'fast' SSD..... Still much better then the 30 seconds+ a normal HDD can manage.

Still, find a cheaper branded 64GB.

Yeah sorry, that came out a little wrong, I thought the prices had dropped significantly. These are still very nice, and I'm considering putting one in my laptop and taking the HDD out of that and into my PC.
