After looking for a car for a while again, i went test driving a few cars over the last few weeks, drove a 2009 Honda Accord, 2007 Ford Mondeo titanium X and a couple of others. I couldn't find anything in my original 5k budget so decided to stretch to £8k hence driving the above cars, anyway, I always loved my A6 S-line, and it was always going to be my first choice, so i ut a deposit on this the other day....

2006 A6 2.7TDi Quattro, FASH, can tell it's really been looked after, it has MMI 2G high (colour nav etc), Bose, Bluetooth and heated seats, nearly everything i wanted in my spec requirements, only thing it doesn't have which i wanted was DAB tuner, which i can retrofit anyway for about £200. I don't think Audi bluetooth supports music over bluetooth, so i'm going to use my Parrot MKi9200 for that.

In the end, i got the car for £6700, i got £2.3k px for my saab.

I am definitely going to look at a warranty for the car, and was looking at Go car warranty, who will do 3 years on their ultimate plan for £654, has anyone used these? It seems to cover what i'd expect it to.

I'm going to look at other companies too, like warranty direct etc.

(I won't be driving through any puddles this time :P)

His price is misleading, it was 9k before part exchange by the look of it.

£9k seems a lot then for an 06, unless it doesn't have many miles on it. Which then wouldn't make sense in a 2.7TDI...

Looking on Autotrader ones under £7k tend to be high mileage SE examples but the price of 2006-2007 A6 2.7 TDIs seems to generally vary wildly. The way he's described it as one he's after and the fact that a three year 3rd party warranty only cost £654, which sounds far too cheap for a high mileage (>100k) vehicle leads me to think it's a dearer, lower mileage example.

I dunno though, OP needs to clarify :p

To me it reads as £6700 + the part exchange. I think you would only really state it in such a way if you knew it was overpriced.

No, it was up for £6990, got £200 knocked off and i got 2.3k for my saab, leaving a total of £4490 to pay.

It's got 114k miles on, which after reading further on that warranty link, is no good for my car, i found a 3 year one with warrantywise for £1700 though.

To answer one of the questions in your OP, no the 2G Bluetooth can't do streaming.

3G+ can ;)

Don't take this one for a bath!

Boat? You mean aircraft carrier? :p

Brilliant car for the money!

What is warrantywise covering for 1700?

12/120 Cover Level
Only Parts listed under the following headings are included. Any item not specifically described below is ‘not’ included.

Engine:
All internal moving Parts and also including the engine block, cylinder head and cylinder head gasket.
Drive Belts:
Camshaft timing belt.
Note: A failure of the camshaft timing belt can cause significant engine damage, and should always be changed within the manufacturer’s recommended period
Gearbox and Transmission (manual or automatic):
All internal mechanical Parts of gearbox, transfer gearbox, torque converter and overdrive.
Clutch:
Flywheel release bearing, master cylinder, slave cylinder and fork lever.
Drive Train:
Drive shafts, prop-shafts, centre bearings, constant velocity joints, universal joints and couplings.
Differential:
Crown wheel, pinion and bearings.

Or i could get continuous cover for £66/month

I had a 3rd party warranty, when the flywheel went did they pay up? Did they buggery!!

Save your money and just keep money in the bank, anything that will go wrong with your car will be classed as acceptable wear and tear at the age and mileage.

Dont bother...
