Has an option for an Active Stylus so should be great for One Note.

The Venue 8 Pro is priced at $300 and will be available from October 18th in the US (looking for UK prices / dates)

That looks a damn nice bit of kit, the first manufacturer to make an mini Surface RT with wireless Qi charging has got my money!

Nice review with comparisons to the Surface family.

Going to order an 8 Pro, hopefully Dell have they keyboard with it.

I'm holding out till the Surface 2 mini & Nokia 8" specs get released, but the 8 Pro does look VERY tempting, just hope they don't mess the pricing up considering it's £186 in the US.

Just imagine Intels follow up to Baytrail?

I still 100% think Microsoft should have never went RT, and instead just got in bed with Intel, Clovertrail Surface 1 and then a Baytrail Surface 2.

Would have a much better response, as the Surface stuff is insane build quality.

But you are comparing intem atom based processor to full intel core i5 chips, or am i missing something?

there should be substantial performance difference?

This is just the thing I have been looking for, now I can put my programming apps on here and head to library.

If they can bring a 10" version out and it performs well I can see this putting a dent into android, in the tablet market
anyway.

that's damn chip. It's basically a surface pro 2 but slightly smaller and much much much less money. i should have waited

Lol, comparing an atom to an i5 and sampying its the same. Theyre nothing like the same.

That's a pretty retarded place to put a Start button though

Thats a great place for it, the normal place is retarded. Win tablets are deisgned to be held landscape, what point is the start button in the middle where its hard to reach.
Ipad has it in a great place for landscape. Nice easy to reach button, juat like the dell has

If they can bring a 10" version out and it performs well I can see this putting a dent into android, in the tablet market
anyway.

They have, but its silly price dell venu pro 11 atom @ £587, i3 @ £689 & i5 at £790 thats ex vat and shipping only in business secrion at the moment. Only the i3 is in the home section at the moment at £683 inc vat/shipping.

Which is the exact reason I'm doing nothing till I see the Mini & Nokia version, been stung far too many times buying early!

The only thing I'm not keen with about this Pro 8 is the micro usb charging .. I haven't broken one, but I'm always convinced I will. They should have gone down the wireless charging route or having a magnetic connector.

The Dell venue pro 8 looks interesting will check it out can't see it being anywhere near the performance of a surface 2 pro an if it were then it wouldn't be cheap at all.
If it's £186 in the USA then it's going to be under powered compared to the surface 2 pro its more like a surface 2.
Wonder how much the UK price will be £299 I bet lol 8 inch tablet is a great size when travelling.
I'm going to buy one if the price is right great video thanks for posting POB.

Released in the UK, Starts. At £249 in the UK (32 GB), same price as the Toshiba Encore.

Or £406 on the business site with 64GB and cellular support.

Price is good would want a 64 GB version though problems with the Stylus not working good worries me an the bad Bluetooth which I read in the reviews will need to check it out more.

Dell have released a fix for the stylus issue last night, seems a lot better from some of the posts I have seen...

I like the venue 8 but feel that Id regret not getting the larger venue pro 11 so I have have gone for that - if it proves a good buy I may get an 8" W8 tablet next year

POB .. isn't this your 5th Windows tablet!!! LOL

£249 is pretty damn cheap for a PRO, but I can help but feel a little disappointed that the UK consumer is getting screwed over again considering it's an Irish company and they're selling them for £186 in Walmart, £64 cheaper. Still good value, but I'd have loved to seen them undercut the Nexus 7.
