on par replacement for asus p8p67 pro

evening all

my asus p8p67 pro has gone bump, so on monday i will be negotiating a replacement. Could someone spec me a close to like for like replacement please.

if i recall rightly this board allows xfire and sli, I dont know whether that is standard now, or only on premium boards.

much to gain from the more expensive mobos from msi/gig over the cheaper versions?

also any particular reason for the gigabyte (&msi) love
 
I've always wondered what the guys at Gigabyte were thinking when it came to VRM cooling with some of their boards... What's the use in having just half of them cooled?

Maybe they don't need heatsinks, but they put one up there because it looks nice. :p

They probably didn't cover all of them to save on manufacturing costs of their little decoration. :D
