Dealer wrecks 370Z

What a shocking tale - especially the part where the dealership gave him the minimum they could legally get away with and Nissan GB were not at all interested?!

You'd think they would bend over backwards to make things right for him rather than close rank :(

I notice he has declined to replace it with another 370Z, you have to wonder what sort of standards are in place between parent company and franchise holders if Nissan won't even get involved in something like this. They are, after all, trading under the Nissan name? Nissan must be aware (and indeed ths is why they sell franchises) that to the public, your local Nissan dealer *is* Nissan.

Nissan should be bending over backwards.

Surely it's in their interests to sweep this under the carpet and put the customer right?

EDIT - Too late!

Based on what I am reading and appreciating there are always two sides, this seems like Nissan have washed their hands of this and the dealer has acted incredibly poorly. If it were me in this situation I would see this as a challenge I had to win and would do what I could to ensure the world knew about it, calmly and clearly as the facts seem to speak for themselves.

To Fox's point is astonishes me how little the manufacturers want to get involved in dealer problems, even with high end brands it's far too common a story.

That's hectic. Looks like he's floored it, lost control, hit the lamp post which has stuck it on it's roof. And as for Nissan's response... pathetic.

sorry, I'm a bit confused here.

I presume the car was driven under the dealerships insurance policy. Just demand a like for like replacement, or current market value.

If he gets either of those, tis fine, if he didn't... I'm a bit lost why he didn't push it further. That would surely be the legal minimum. You have to be put back into the position you were in prior to the incident... don't you?

I'd personally think Nissan UK should have been all over this. Surely he wants to be e-mailing the UK MD and if he doesn't get a favourable response, asking how he feels about some free publicity?

Which is why I put it on here, I got it from another forum which is no open and felt it needed a broader audience.

There must be someone in Nissan HQ who could sort something here. The 370z can't be far off their most expensive car. If he leaves, thats one hell of a customer to lose.

I had the front of my S2000 resprayed, and a brand new windscreen at 10 years old free of charge because I explained my woes to a Honda Customer services person at an event loads of S2K owners went to.

If I can get it for that, I'm sure Nissan can do something...?

I think we need to get a full account of exactly what happened and the shortcomings. Once we have that, it's much easier to get as much publicity on social media as possible. Nissan might actually do something then.

It's been settled so effectively done and dusted. While it sucks, there is very little to be achieved by this spreading across many forums now. He should have done that on day 1 or at least when Nissan wouldn't get involved.
