Nope.

Same group, but two separate divisions and right now OcUK is not seeking to be involved with VTX3D on a direct basis, were focusing on Powercolor as Powercolor is the premium division within the TUL group, whereas VTX3D is the value/budget option.

It's strange how TUL operates. Have to say that is some stonking service from OcUK though, bravo.

Not really, a lot of companies do it by having different sub divisions, for example:-

Palit group:-
Palit - Typically focusing on price point.
Gainward - Focusing on cooling / silence and sometime bin GPU's for GLH edition etc.
Galaxy - Have their own R&D and HOF series amongst some of the best overclocking cards out there.
KFA2 - Galaxy cards essentially for Europe.

But they are all part of the same Palit group, yet Palit, Gainward and Galaxy all do their own thing and compete with each other.

AMD R9-290 or AMD R9-290X - On your average system the card requires you to have a 550~600 Watt power supply unit.

AMD R9-290 or AMD R9-290X Crossfire - On your average system the cards require you to have a 800 Watt power supply unit as minimum.

Never noticed Powercolour as a 'stand out brand' before but with the addition of cooler removal being allowed, they get a massive plus in my books.

Havnt seen any but i imagine just like other ones at those clocks. Because it comes with a higher stock mem clock of 1350 rather than 1250, i would imagine there are less black screen issues, as it is memory related and no board partner would up the memclock without making sure it wont black screen at those clocks... right? (lets hope)

Well at least you are guaranteed a memory of at least 1350, which is more than what some people get, as they black screen much over clock. Having said that, my Sapphire sits quite happily at 1550.

Also, at least the Powercolor ones dont look like this:

More interested at what temps they sit at under idle/load.

Also the black screening issue is what's holding me back from ordering a 290. Not going to till I see some concrete fixes. Probably will end up waiting till all the upgraded pcbs are released and reviewed.

Either way glad to see ocuk have another brand that will let you remove the cooler and retain warranty!

Bought two Powercolor 7950s before xmas at £175 each brand new. they have been flawless. never exceed 65 degrees on the core and 70-75 degrees vrms at 50% fan at 1050/1500 @ 1.1V

Well, the LCS variant is just a standard EK block with different lettering on the Acetal. My own EK block + 290x sits no more than 42 when mining and 46 under gaming. Though, all of that depends on radiators and other things in the loop. My loop is 120.5 of radiator, 290x at 1241/1550 with +100mv, fx8320 @5.1, VRMs and nb and RAM (although i doubt they would make the loop much hotter than a degree or two).

As per AMD recommendations our specs for those out their who try using poor quality PSU's.

Fact is a 500W Gold/Platinum from likes of antec, Superflower could run them, but not all power supplies are made equal.
