Hello everyone,

As some of you may know Thief is launching next week. As an AMD Gaming Evolved title, it has many Radeon-optimized features like our CrossFire and Eyefinity technologies. The blog also provides information on the numerous pc-specific features as well as the PC system requirements: http://community.eidosmontreal.com/blogs/Thief-PC-Requirements?theme=thief

As mentioned in the blog, Eidos and AMD simply have a little more work to do to ensure the game offers the fastest and best gaming experience for AMD Radeon customers, and are working together on a patch which will feature the Mantle API and TrueAudio technologies; the patch will be out in March.

Thief will feature AMD CrossFire and AMD Eyefinity technologies at launch; the game will be available on February 25th in North America and February 28th in Europe.

Here are a few links I hope you find helpful:

So basically, TrueAudio and Mantle won't be ready at launch, and we have to wait 1-4 weeks for the patch (assuming it arrives on time). AMD, you're not doing yourselves (or your customers) any favours. Didn't you learn from the BF4 Mantle patch?

Don't get me wrong, I want to see these features in games, but they really need to arrive when the game does. There's all this hype and advertising, and then you're telling gamers to wait a month before playing it with all the extra AMD features.

Sigh. Id jave finished the game and dumped it by the timeantle amd true audio comes along. How disappointing. If every mantle game is like this, why bother sticking tje fat mantle/true audio tags on all the gfx cards

I'm very disappointed - Thief was touted as having Mantle & TrueAudio out of the box, I pre ordered it on that basis. I think I might even contact Steam and return it for a refund since it's only preloaded and not released.

Then I'll make Eidos wait for my money until it's finished as promised - I'll possibly get it cheaper at that time anyway.

Why does the UK have to wait three more days than the US? Hmmm?

Gotta ship the game to us bro, can't have the digital retailers getting a head start of physical retailers like GAME, fair trade and all that. Even though they won't stock many bloody copies anyway, with it being a B-list release and on PC, which has lost huge physical retail space to consoles.

Off topic: Just another reason for retailers to disappear IMO, sooner the better.

Requested a refund from steam:

Please remove this game from my library and issue a refund to my wallet, as I pre purchased on the basis that the Mantle API and TrueAudio support would be included upon release.

I have today discovered that this is not the case and that a "patch" will be released on a date yet to be confirmed.

This is unacceptable and even a cursory search of the newsfeeds for the thief game are full of the benefits of the Mantle API and TrueAudio support.

I have no desire to play the game without these two advertised functional benefits included. I may choose to repurchase at a later date however I will not reward a company that launches a product that is not as advertised and issues a last minute notification when "gold release" was well prior to this announcement.

As the game is only pre-installed I have not played it and qualify for a refund.

Thanks.

Looks like the PC version will be fantastic, just like for Deus Ex HR. It is a shame that Mantle will not be in on release, but I think, this being Unreal 3 game, it will not really be necessary. Even DirectX should run this at 60 constantly on any decent GPU.

I just hope the game is as good as the PC version. Some videos look good, some not as much.
