Audi approved warranty

I have just bought an approved Audi, (2012 A6) I have been offered an extended warranty (after the initial 12 months) and was wondering what the value of it is, whether I should do it now, or wait until I'm closer to the warranty expiration? Or even shop around elsewhere?

The prices quoted were 1 year extension-£499, 2 year extension-£799, 3 year extension-£999. Obvious this is on top of the 12 months I already have.

I am in a similar situation as I bought a late 2011 A6 recently, but in my case not from an Audi dealer as I couldn't find one with the car I wanted.

I've been pondering a warranty from the Audi extended warranty site but I am not sure if that's what a dealer offers after the official Audi approved used warranty. The ones on that site are one year only with various options and are tailored to the model variant. They're not cheap for my car at £640 a year for named component with no excess or roadside assistance, and £827 for comprehensive. Both for 15K miles per year maximum.

Just glad I've got warranty left for most of this year!

I don't know if they are the same or not, the three year extension seems uncharacteristically cheap from what I have read elsewhere.

I have just received some info from the Audi Dealer regarding the extended warranty and it's supplied by AXA, is this correct, or is the Audi Extended Warranty something different?
