When are we expecting the 780s to come down in price?

Its already had its price drop :p

If its too much for you just now, wait for special daily/weekly offers, they've been south of £350 a few times :)

Yeah people are buying em at those prices so I don't see them coming down without a replacement card solidly on the horizon.

Probably when they are eol and gibbo gets a stock clearance deal(like the msi 67/80's) to get rid of them after the 880's launch.

Ahh, the Power Editions, basically a Lightning for sub-200 which was amazing at the time. :) Seems so long ago. I think a lot of people still have SLI setups acquired during that deal. :D

Depends how many are left when the 8 series come out.

Could be kept at a similar price for people who want a 2nd in the future.

August 6th 2013, 680 power edition for £260. I remember just being blown away by how cheap that was, and all the calls to my bank trying to prove OcUK was a legit business.

As for 780 price drops, they have slowly being falling down with sub £350 cards becoming quite common, but don't expect a massive price collapse until maxwell or the next AMD architecture.

I don't think they will drop that much further, maybe when retailers clear out remaining stock after maxwell or new amd cards get released (nobody knows when that is). There are many 780s currently going for under £350

NVIDIA will aim to run their channel dry of old stock before releasing new tech. As a business they don't want to have to price protect thousands of cards in the channel to a lower price, as such run the channel dry.

So when new card comes out stocks are very low or zero, hence no price drop required.

From dealing with manufacturers like MSI, Asus etc. none of them seem to have large stocks, so I doubt a price drop will come and we shall just transition to new product when it comes at whatever price it comes at.
