Hi,

I was wondering if these temps are right for the setup I have.

CPU: i7-4790K 4.00GHz (Devil's Canyon)
GPU: MSI Geforce GTX 780 Gaming Edition OC 3072MB GDDR5

Both are being cooled by the single loop.

Temps are from CPUID MWMonitor:

Idle:
CPU Package: 35°C
GPU: 32°C

Under load (AIDA64 - both CPU and GPU burn-in)
CPU Package: 71°C
GPU: 42°C

To me, I don't think this is right, but I do not know, hence I'm asking. Also the CPU very easily spikes to 45°C+ even when doing the simply things like opening a browser. I also have core powerdown enabled, so my PC can power down up to 50% of the CPU cores (logical and physical).

CPU block is a Koolance CPU-380I Water Block
GPU block is a Koolance VID-NXTTN Geforce GTX 780 VGA Cooler
1x 360 Rad - Hardware Labs Black ICE Radiator GT Stealth 360 (top of case, 3x SP120 Quiet)
1x 240 rad - Hardware Labs Black ICE Radiator GT Stealth 260 (bottom of case, 2x SP120 Quiet, has a mesh to stop dust being sucked into the case)

Pump/Res is a XSPC D5 Photon 170 Reservoir/Pump Combo, which is set to 4 out of 5 for speed.

CPU/GPU compound used was IC Diamond 24 carat

Now I have tried to overclock and I can get 4.4GHz without even trying but the CPU package spikes to 50°C+ even when idle.... SO I removed the overclock for the time being.

Look good when compared to mine.

Mine idles between 32 -36, just been encoding a mkv for the past couple of hours or so and it hit 71.

Thats with EK blocks in. I have the 290x.

Having said that mines clocked at 4.5 so not much of an OC

HTH
