[Futuremark] Fire Strike Ultra for 4k benching releasing on Monday

Go for it Kaap :D

As long as no one has any objections I will get a thread started over the weekend.

Anyone who benches Firestrike @4K needs to keep an eye on their PSU as the power draw is a fair bit higher.:D

I have benched Firestrike Extreme and Sky Diver @4K and the VRMs on the cards make a lot of noise.:D

Your the Firestrike guy Kaap :)

Ya know I got really excited when I saw this news!!

Bad news is Iv never actually seen a 4k monitor in person yet let alone own one or the parts to be able to run games on one :p

Can't wait to see the benchmark results though :)

Anyone want me to start a bench thread for this ?

Definitely. You're the benchmark expert around here. :)

A proper 4K benchmark will be great. It will certainly separate the men from the boys. ;)

Speaking of which are you planning on watercooling your lightnings? :)

Don't know yet, depends how well they overclock i guess. Not entirely sure how much I'll use them to be honest. I always wanted a couple though and at £310 it seems worth taking a punt on two.

It will be interesting to see what settings Futuremark use for this bench.

Here is a 4K run on the old Firestrike Extreme bench using 4 x 290Xs @stock.

AMD Radeon R9 290X(4x) @1000/1250

Intel Core i7-4930K @4.0

Graphics Score 10078

Physics Score 15175

Combined Score 3782

I wonder if simulating a 4k run on a 1080p monitor will be worse than running this on a native 4k.

It's interesting, with my 2 970s on the dsr settings there is a smoothness option so there must be some form of post-processing on top of the downsampling. by default it's on 33%, hopefully using 0% will give no performance hit
