Phanteks Enthoo Tango Build

UPDATED 06/03/2016

So this thread died a death last time due to a series of component failures that in the end made me give up the planned build with a custom loop and just throw everything into the case using a H105 mainly down to time and funds :(

The time has come for me to get my ass in gear and build something that I am happy with - so to not bore you lot any more:

List of parts:

Phanteks Enthoo Primo SE orange and black
Asus Rampage Extreme V
Intel 5930K
16Gb Ripjaws 4 DDR4 2400mhz
Sli EVGA 980 SC
Superflower Platinum 1200W PSU
Various SSD and other bits

Alphacool UT60 480 (possibly XT45)
Alphacool UT60 360
D5 Vario with XSPC top
EK Evo 2011v3 block
2 x FC-980 EK Copper blocks with black back plates
EK Spin V3 res
Monsoon orange fittings
Black 16/10 tubing

Why not a Gigabyte SOC Force I hear you ask - it is the perfect colour? Well - I had one and it died and had to be RMA'd. This was after the original build was together  I replaced it with the RVE and it's been solid.

So some of the parts I already have and some are being ordered over the next few days with a view to getting it done before April :p

Original thread in here:

Try again having read the sub-forum guidelines :p Sorry again

Fancied a change from my current build in the Switch 810 but couldn't really afford to blow loads of cash on a serious hardware upgrade so decided that case and cooling would be what I change. This is my 3rd water build and I'm hoping that I'll be able to use stuff I've learned along the way to make a build that I am actually happy with.... and MAYBE can leave alone form the foreseeable future. I've never really been happy with my Switch build and all my gear lived in an 800D for a while but I wasn't really happy with that either.

Looking to achieve a quiet (Yes I'm looking at you XSPC res/pump combo), tidy build with excellent cooling for current and future hardware. My current 360 and 120 rads are great but I've noticed that since clocking everything to try and push frames to my ROG Swift, things have been getting a little toasty.

So what am I carrying over -

1 x I7 4770k that runs quite hot. Hasn't had a de-lid but considering it for this build.
1 x XSPC Raystorm.
1 x Gigabyte Z87X-OC with 16Gb Ballistix tracer ram.
2 x reference 780's with XSPC blocks.
1 x Corsair HX850.
1 x D5 pump
Plus various SSD's and drives.

And the shiny stuff I've bought :D

Enthoo Primo SE in orange and black
EK-Coolstream PE 480
XSPC EX360
XSPC dual bay res
XSPC D5 pump top
7 x Corsair SP quiet editions
And lots of shiny Monsoon fittings and black Primochill tubing.
Gigabyte X99 SOC FORCE
5930K
16GB DDR 4 Ripjaws 2400mhz
Super Flower 1200w Platinum

This is the plan using my incredible PAINT skills :o

Haven't 100% decided on tubing routing yet as I want to see the case first. Plan is to hide some of it out the way if I can and for that reason I've gone for slimmer tubing than my last build. Gonna use 3/8 5/8 and hopefully I can make it tidy.

I'm sure bits will change over time and I will do my best to keep it updated on here. Any questions or suggestions please give me a shout - and if any of this isn't right as far as forum rules go please give me the chance to edit it rather than delete it - I know it's my fault for not following the rules 100% but I've put time into starting this and it was a bit of a downer to just have my original one deleted - Thanks

I'd also like to say that originally I planned another white build until I saw MorleySA's White Out Build - but as it's better than anything I'd have achieved and after spitting my dummy out and sulking like a baby for a few days, I decided on the orange build. Was actually gonna buy the black case and have orange tube the day the orange one was announced but woke up too late to drive over and buy it and then spotted this - everything happens for a reason :)

Liking the orange and black theme sir! It matches my bike! (Giant propel). So I'll be watching this thread to see how it goes! Good luck!

Ok so it's been a while without updates. No sign of the case yet but I have been busy spending money on other bits I don't need. Decided if I'm gonna do this then I'm gonna do it properly. Please excuse the picture quality - My actual camera is flat and in a wardrobe behind these boxes so my phone will have to do

So first up:

Here we have several items that I definitely said earlier I didn't need :p

I regretted every build I've done because I've cut corners. I can't do this one all at once but here is a start. Plan is to get it all up and running and then go tri-SLI in the future.

Been a FAN of these for a long time. :p:rolleyes: I'll get my coat.

Now I've gone 2011 I may regret getting slimmer rads. Should have maybe thought this through better. Any one got any input?

Lots of goodies in there too.

I've also bought some orange spray paint for a few little ideas I have had :D

So what do you guys and girls think?

So the case has been dispatched and due tomorrow. In the meantime I've been playing with paint :p I'm officially terrible at it. Did a faceplate for my raystorm same orange...... but...... it didn't make it. New one turns up tomorrow...

Finally got all the bits I need and decided to stick with SLI 780's for now. Here are some more pics of my progress. Sorry again for the quality of the photos. Limited to my phone camera at the moment!

1st time using Gelid Extreme with it's little spreader. Definitely thought getting a thin layer was going to be one of my easier tasks with the build but it took me 2 goes and lots of patience to get it right! Supposed to be good anyway - we shall see :p If not I'll be back to IC Diamond.

So here is the X99 board with the Raystorm fitted. Sprayed the faceplate - this was attempt number 2. There is a small chip in it but I'm hoping to make sure this is hidden with tube :D

Board fitted to case - Flipped fans to pull as intake!

And another shot to show you where I am up to.

I've also stripped down my bay reservoir and built the XSPC pump top. Now deciding on tubing routing options and I have a QDC to fit in some where.

Tonight the plan is to clean all of my existing SP120's and fit them to the 360 rad, fit that to the floor and maybe get it all tubed up. I have man flu and it's kicking my ass at the minute so I shall see how I feel after work!

Happy with my progress so far

Have you thought about spraying the 1/4" plug's for the graphics card orange to match the build?

I've thought about doing this with mine!

After the drama of trying to get a coat on the fans / faceplate that I'm happy with I think that may be a job for the future :p

Probably when I change cards. Your build is quality by the way.

Thanks :) It's amazing how many different variations that can be done in the Enthoo, definitely the best case i've had!

I was surprised how many builds seem to be popping up since I got mine :p

But like you said - there are that many different builds and combinations that every build seems to have it's own personality. Still glad I got this over the 900D!
