Hi I know the limitations ok a 690 gtx to 4k regarding memory.

What my question is:

Does anyone have a 690 hooked upto a 4k monitor @ 60Hz at top res?

I will buy a GPU laters and will just use it for 4k movies and less demanding games, etc, or run at lower res until I can afford a better gpu etc.

But I don't want to do it without being able to get the 4k res at 60Hz.

Thanks in advance.

I am using a pair of GTX 690s @60htz on a 32" 4K monitor at the moment.

All you need to connect is a quality mini displayport to normal displayport cable.

Yup, the only time it becomes a problem is if you want to do 4k to a TV or Monitor that doesn't have displayport.

After using 4K I could not go back to a lower resolution, 4K even makes the win7 basic background look almost interesting.

ok so I can use one 690 to achieve Resolution: 3840x2160 @ 60 Hz ?

100 % before I order it, because I've seen somewhere it says the 690 is max 2560x1440 .
Sorry I just don't want to order one and find I can't use it.

thanks for your patience

My GTX 690s on Dirt Showdown @4K you can see the refresh rate in the settings

A word of caution, you can get 60htz (or as above 59htz) out of the GTX 690 but there are very few games where you can use decent settings as you will keep hitting the 2gb VRAM wall.

thank's mate appreciate your time taken. I think i'll order one. it's only going to be short term maybe march before I can afford a gpu upgrade by then I should have about 1k saved up for 2 x 980 or a 990 if it comes out.

Can I ask which monitor your using, I was thinking of going for this one.

thanks again. I'll post a different thread up on the Monitor side. see what people say.
I am a bit nervous about buying a 4k setup,
Nice monitor BTW. money bags lol

Apparently my 660 (non ti) should be able to do 4k at 60hz, as it has displayport 1.2! Not that I am suggesting I would try such a crazy move...
