waiting for Skylake-E myself. (it maybe a year or more though)

Same here, nothing more than a minor update. Intel is slacking :p

Would rather spend my hard-earned cash on PCIE 4.0 and whatever SSD standard is about by near the end of 2016, need my PCIE lanes for GPUs! DDR4 is still twice the price of DDR3 without any performance gains or huge capacities to make it worth it when most people are using 2133MHz or 2400MHz RAM in 4x4GB capacities.

Saying that I have a good enough setup and for that reason would say this is an idea time to upgrade from the usual 4 cores to 6/8 cores, price of 5820K is very good for 28 lanes :) Certainly the case for this for multiple GPUs. We know DX12 API is supposed to help out there come W10 release on the 29th but we still have plenty of DX9-11 titles to play through and you'd be surprised at how demanding they remain.

I think you missed the point. There are a lot of people waiting for Skylake to arrive. My opinion is that X99 will still have such a large advantage that it's probably not worth the wait.

Now, if you are one of those people who is happy to wait another year to upgrade then there will always be something better, on the horizon, that might possibly be worth waiting for.

Tempting but ill wait for Skylake benchies and whatnot to arrive first.

Although apon hearing that Skylake-E will likely be a different socket, im slightly less enthusiastic.

I decided long time ago that my next build will be ITX based, so sorry, but no x99 for me ;)
I am waiting for EVGAs Z170 Stinger and Skylake then ;)

But those are very nice deals anyway - as usual :D

But... but... None of those motherboards have the up-to-date X99 features like USB 3.1!;)

This is what is holding me back from getting a bundled version! Wish they did include one with USB 3.1. Maybe when Skylake is out, then we will see!

I'm personally waiting for more mATX boards. Seems a waste having a huge case with full ATX and only having a single GPU
