Article is a bit misleading but some tablets that have magnesium plates.

Well everyone get a free battery woo. Pretty cushty if you own an affected one as your battery life will be back to day one for free.

Just checked mine and it's Y01 so completed the online form for replacement.

Pretty painless, lets see how long they take to send out a new one.

This is going to cost them a lot, the old devices just get rendered useless.

As a Shield owner this could very well have annoyed me a tad, but I've got to admit the recall process is very quick and easy to get going, not bad, let's see if they can meet that 2-4 week estimate.

Oh and:

"Please stop using the tablet immediately, except as needed to participate in the recall and back up your data"

Nah I'll take my chances

Got my new shield tablet in the post yesterday. I was hoping they would make a mistake and give me the 4g model. All seems fine with the new model looks brand new.
