Is AC: Unity worth it?

I loved the AC franchise, 2 bring the best, Brotherhood being good as well. But then it derailed. III was a bit of as let down and started to move away from the assassination side of the game. AC bloody pirates is ok, but it never felt like and AC game...

I know Unity had some pretty bad bugs when it came out but a key can be bought pretty cheaply at the moment and I'm wondering if it's worth picking up?

I played AC until Brotherhood and then took a break from the series as it was becoming too 'samey', year in year out. Picked up Unity recently on the PS4 and loved it, not sure if it was because of the break I took from the series or not or just a generally great game. I really enjoyed the multiplayer co-op missions too and the character suit customisation.

Have they finally fixed this?

To be honest, I didn't really like it. The setting and graphics are really good but it was probably the worst story in the franchise so far. Everything just breezed by so fast that the narrative felt really disjointed. There was no real sense of a paradigm-shifting revolution happening on the streets of Paris and no satisfying conclusion whatsoever. Everything just felt pointless and rushed.

After the ending, I was like: "And that's it? Seriously?" It didn't exactly help that the game was buggy and I couldn't even finish it normally since it was freezing constantly as soon as I stepped into the final area. I had to watch the ending on YT:p

I've just recently got round to playing this. About half way and I'd recommend it on the strength of what I've played although it's no where near as fun as Black Flag.

I also wish I'd got the PC version. Playing it on Xbox One and while it looks great the frame rate feels closer to 20 than 30 sometimes so it can be a little sluggish.

On the whole though, very good...and probably very cheap now too.

the map alone was enough to put me off let alone the feel of the game, this is the first assassins game i haven't completed after starting.

i went back to 2 for classic assassins creed, now there just feel lazy.

So, I'm still hovering over this, I want AC II again, fun exploring, fun side missions, a proper story, decent sized map.

I did NOT class AC: Black Flag as an assassins game, you was a pirate who could jump around. That's it.

Tust me, it's a decent game, you'll like it.

- Combat is completely re invented and isn't as easy as just countering everything.
- Weapon system is completely new. Heavy / light / one handed / two handed like Skyrim. Pistols, rifles for sniping.
- Wearable gear can be changed, at least 15 different outfits.
- On high settings, the streets of paris are almost photo realistic

Definitely worth a punt

ok, patched to v1.4 and I am having some pain in the bum issues.

First server bridge, I jump into the portal, loading screen kicks in, crashes to desktop.

Any ideas?

Last one I played was black flag...more of that please :)

Totally agree.

I played and completed AC Black Flag, then played Unity within a week of finishing BF. I couldn't believe how much of a step back this game was, the graphic's are not progressive from the previous game. The story line is weak and takes ages to get going. Not impressed at all.

I've since uninstalled the game, defiantly not worth the £20 I payed for it. :(

I too like Pirates Creed, but don't rate it as an Assassins Creed game. It's missing a certain touch.

I'll buy Unity tonight then.
