Asus H81T motherboard confusion!!

Do we still have an Asus representative on here by any chance, as I would appreciate some clarification of a query, which is currently bugging me!

It concerns the Asus H81T R2.0 Motherboard which, for some unknown reason does not appear to be available here in the UK, despite being separately listed on the Asus UK website, although it can easily be purchased in the USA from the likes of Amazon, Newegg, and many others!

Now, it's predecessor, the H81T (NOT the R2.0) is generally available here, and does indeed appear to have many more recent BIOS updates available, which looks a bit strange to me!

Does anyone know the difference between these two boards please, and why Asus considered it necessary to launch a newer R2 version, but still continue to update firmware for the 'older' one?

I am confused!!!

Manufacturers constantly update their boards. Gigabyte usually has several revisions of a board as time goes on. It will be small improvements, slightly different heatsinks, different slots that get's changed. If they didn't keep supporting earlier revisions then that would make them pretty poor manufacturers and people would avoid them for manufacturers that did.

I don't think we have had a Asus rep since they got rid of UK support a good couple of years ago.

I have no problem about manufactures updating their boards at all... just so long as the models they show on their UK website are actually available to purchase here in the UK... which the H81T R2.0 isn't, well, not as far as I can see anyway!
