Chemically stripped, blasted and then powder coated.

£80 (inc vat) per wheel (18") sound about right for a set in London?

Yep, hung around for a bit last time I went and watched them do a few.

*I think* it's these guys http://www.wheelrefurbish.co.uk/the-process/

I know my dad leaves the car or wheels there for a week. Probably why he's able to get them done a bit cheaper.

Pajero wheels last time so not small either.

Thanks.

If it was closer to the station I would have considered it. But a little too far.

Paid £78 per wheel for a set of 4x 19" last year - full strip back and refurbish.

£80 sounds in the right ball park to me.

£40 here for:
Sand blasted
imperfections corrected
powder coating
Lacquer baked on top.

That's per wheel.

30 if I don't get them lacquered.

going to take mine over soon to have done as the paint is peeling (wheels that were painted by dealer)

18" wheels are £60 a wheel at paintituk in Billericay, stripped, refurbished and powdercoated. Done a few for me now, and always been a top job. I do leave the wheels with them though.

Just paid £60 a wheel inc VAT in the North West. That included leaving the car, tyre removal and refitting and balancing. I needed 4 new tyres anyway and everyone seems to want £15 to fit a tyre these days so that offset some of the refurb cost. They are very well done.

Last time I had some done about 5 years ago IIRC I paid £35 a wheel. The finish was acceptable for the price, but they weren't perfect and they didn't balance the wheels which cost me another £24.

FA Wheels do direct swap, they prep a genuine set of the same wheel and you simply visit them, get them swapped, and pay the fee. Easy. My 19" diamond cut full set came to £375.

Having had quotes, of between £30 and 40 I cannot say whether is for a full on refurb, or a localised repair. The latter will still stand out like a Sore Thumb?

I paid £75 per wheel for a strip/refurb/paint last year. Time will truly tell how good the job was, but so far so good.

Picked it up this morning, 24 hour turnaround. Happy with the result.

Took it as an opportunity to switch from the standard silver. The fresh lacquer alone gives it a massive lift though.

Hopefully won't be kerbing it as much as the last 2 years.
