After some consideration the mod team have decided to allow club specific threads to be trialled subject to the following rules:

1. These threads are for: tactical/player discussion inbetween weekend matchday threads, injury news, contract renewals, manager press conferences, and general minor news about your club that may not warrant its own thread. Anything that's not regarded as a minor news story must go in it's own thread.

2. No Spoilers! Please keep any discussion about weekend and midweek fixtures to the relevant matchday threads, at least until MOTD has been shown.

3. All transfer talk should be discussed in the dedicated transfers threads. Small rumours, signing of youth players etc outside the transfer window when the transfer threads aren't open are fine.

4. As per forum rules, keep it civil, supporters of any team are welcome to post in all club threads. If you have a problem with a post, RTM it. Trolling or accusations of trolling will not be tolerated.

While all the rules must be listened to, take particular care of the rule regarding spoilers. Any mention of the result or performance, even hinting at it, prior to MOTD will result in a suspension.

If anybody would like to open a thread for a particular club, feel free but please make sure you post the rules in your OP. Furthermore anybody that wants to keep these threads permanently, please help by keeping an eye on what's being discussed and RTM or contact a mod if any rules aren't being followed.

Can we allow spoilers, please. Just put a warning in the title?

EDIT: Actually that's a terrible idea so many threads would being active on a matchday, nevermind.

No. We have match day threads for that. We don't need game chat being discussed in two threads and it will become confusing with half of us discussing the game in one thread and the other half in club threads. Not to mention it would make moderating far more time consuming.

edit: Just to add to the above. We're allowing these threads with the hope that they'll add something extra to the forum rather than change or replace what we already have. The last thing we want is for everything Liverpool related to be discussed in the Liverpool thread, only amongst Liverpool fans. These threads are to provide somewhere to discuss small matters which currently aren't being discussed because there's currently no thread for them.

Why is it only for minor news? To keep the size down?
Because the thread would become a mess if 100 different topics were being discussed at once. Big stories deserve their own thread and it makes it easier for people that would want to talk about them to do so without having to wade through pages of chat about what's Rooney's best position.
