2 computers 1 cup

I have both at home and work, 2 computers and multiple screens that I would like to use one mouse with and one keyboard, and ideally switch between monitors (but can work around that). Old days you'd just get a KVM and be done, but I've heard there are software solutions now...? Anyone used...
