Battle of the 34" Ultrawide QD-OLEDS

Apologies if this has already been discussed (I didn't find a thread). We have 4 different models of the new 34" Ultrawide QD-OLED monitors to choose from: Alienware DWF - no HDMI 2.1 (meaning 8bit 165hz, or 10bit 144hz) no idea why 165hz instead of 175hz. - £880 Samsung G8 - Too expensive...

    Samsung Odyssey 34" G5 LC34G55TWWUXEN 165hz Ultrawide

Anybody got one? If so what are they like? Specs seem pretty good. Doesn't appear to be the same panel that is in all the 144hz VA panels with flickering issues. You would assume anyway owing to the higher refresh rate and 1000R Curve. Seems to be a new panel?

Ultrawide: the future of monitors, or the multi-gpu of the monitor world?

I'm looking at picking up a new monitor in January, and I'm debating going ultrawide. My concern is that a) I'll find the lack of support in some titles unbearable (what happens if you have to run it at 16:9? can you have stuff open next to the game or does it just get hidden by letterboxes) b)...
