Thought I'd put this in here just on the off chance its to do with my OC.

Now the thing thats stumped me a little is the BSOD only occurs once every few days and only durring shut down, after the windows 7 'shutting down' screen when the screen should go black to indicate its shut down it BSOD's with the 01E error.

System is prime stable (8hours) and IBT stable (45 runs).

According to microsoft its either down to hardware (thinking OC), drivers or AV.

Any ideas/suggestions to narrow it down?

I don't really want to drop to stock as its not a constant thing, so it might not happen for another few days. Not a major issue, just BSOD = bad.

Unfortunatley it's the logical step to take.

You need to take the clock out of the equation so as to rule it out as the problem.

A couple of days isn't that long and if it does turn out to be the clock at least you haven't wasted time troubleshooting other areas. The flip side being, if you do experience a bsod while at stock you've at least established that your clock is 'probably' stable.

No probs, I feared that would be the solution, I'll drop it to stock over the weekend and see, its only happened maybe 4 times in the last 3 weeks, just a mild annoyance as I tend to freak out when ever I see a BSOD :p
