02 Broadband increasing prices!

Just had an emai saying they are putting prices up on March 31st


thing is they haven't even put what the chargers are just that they are going up.

At the moment we get a discount on the broadband due to a 02 PAYG phone we top up
 
if your on the old packages then basic goes up to £9.50 and if you have phone with them that goes up to £13.25 however I managed to get out of contract as per there T&C's the increase is over RPI so got out of contract for both broadband and phone moved to sky on there unlimited package and signed up through quidco which gives me £50 credit :)
 
got off the phone to them and ours is going up to £13

annoying but not awful. Cant complain really £13 for 11mbs is not too shabby and basically no traffic shaping (FUP is something mental like 500GB)
 
not bad really. there are only 3 isp's i'd go with o2,bethere or sky. been with virgin twice and got bitten twice they are just really poor.

When I called in they wanted to move me to the new package so that meant another 12month contract and FUP and 20Gb cap. So i was like no thank you. had my MAC code within an hour.
 
My O2 Pro package, with Friends & Family discount, is going up from 7.61 to about 8.32 (I was kind of zoning out as the woman on the phone this evening was talking - she'd interrupted my Top Gear!)

Once I move (and keep my current package) I'll be about half a mile from the exchange, so, hopefully, should get some fairly blistering speeds :)
 
Ive not had a email yet , this is the first ive heard about a price increase :(

Really, care to elaborate?

I've been on the middle package for 2 years, pay £10 a month (THe missus has an O2 mobile), and it's been great, fast speeds, seemingly unthrottled, and odd months I've downloaded 300Gb+, no issues..

Please tell me who is better, I've got no qualms about switching if there is a better deal..

Nope, I use torrents a lot for videos on Gamersyde, it was fine last night, maxing out my connection when there where enough seeds..

That's O2 LLU btw..
 
Just got mine its gone from £7.50 to £13, now does that inc having the £5 dicount for having a mobile contract.

And Im out of contract now, cant swap my phone as I just started another 12month with BT.


Just looked at my current bill. I was paying £7.50 but now £7.66 due to VAT increase. My bill should be £10.21, so my discount is £2.71. What was the original full cost of the Premium package (old conract).

Old full cost premium was £15 per month, -5 for being an o2 mbile customer so £10, they emailed me and going up from£10 to £13
 
Also resigned for 12 months and now getting £2.50 off a month over 12 months.

That's staying on the premium legacy package so no moving to the new packages.
 
It says if you have a new style package you must wait until the end of the minimum term before you can cancel. I signed up in September.

Surely this is against the terms of the Fair Contracts Act - they have changed the terms of the contract I signed, not me, therefore surely this is grounds for cancellation?

Edit: I didnt realise it was only going up by 53p. Might be hard to argue that one :D

Is that the one that was £7.50 at the old VAT rate? If so, that's what I'm on. But we haven't received any email or call about price rises...

How did you manage that, I heard if you sign up for a new contact you have to move over to the new packages or with the price increase do they allow you to stay on your current old package?

I might do the same if thats the case.
