Hi,

Does anyone know the cancellation fee on 02?
Thinking of moving to EE.
On a 12 month simplicity contract with 02 which started in June.

not sure if they have a fee Mr not but years back they charged me the standard monthly charge times the amount of months i had left, if that's still the case then drop it down to the lowest tariff they will let not put it on.

phones4u buy out contracts if you start a new one with them. not sure if they do EE

Cheers for that. Im only on a £20p/month contract. See what P4U say.
Rumor is 02 charge you for the remainder months

You'll be charged the remaining months you have left on the contract. Every network provider will do this, you've signed a contract for 'x' months remember. As koooowweeee says it might be possible for you to lower everything so you're on the cheapest one and then cancel.

Once you're 9 months in you can drop to a lower contract. However, regardless of the contract, you have to buy your way out. Essentially, you just pay everything that's left - if you're halfway through, you pay the remaining month's bills in one go to get out. Better to just stick it out, either way you have to pay it - you might as well get something out of it.

I think paying off contracts is exempt from VAT. So that would make it about £16.66

Yeah, I'm fairly sure that was the case when I bought out my Vodafone contract recently. Give O2 a ring and they'll be able to tell you the definitive amount. :)
