02 router (thomson TG585) help

Hi All
I have my router downstairs, and have a 10m patch cable on port 2 going upstairs Can anyone tell me if i can connect a switch to this cable and connect 2 pc's to it?

I have tried the wireless way but i have a 100ft high radio,microwave,phone mast about 200m from my house causing lots interference and giving me a week signal

i'm doing the same as yourself but to a netgear switch so it works great

Wifi and mobile phones shouldn't really have anything to do with each other re: interference. So if you have wifi problems then it's something else.

Thanks for the replys my bad its not just a phone mast its a tower with all sorts of kit on it microwave,radio wave and phone mast
