02 tethering steam issues

Hihi, wonder if anyone might know a workaround/fix for this.

I'm currently waiting on a cable install, made a bit of an error in the adsl disconnection date, so now I'm relying on my 02 desire for a tethered connection (working mostly fine, in-fact it's actually faster than the adsl connection..).
Anyway, my issue.. I can't connect to steam. Obviously I don't intend to game over a tethered connection, but I would like to talk to friends.
Anyone have a similar experience?.

can you post a traceroute?

o2 are more than likely blocking the ports, the other thing you can do is go to a site like Playboy this will throw up a block page saying you need to prove you are 18.

It could be that this is what is blocking steam, but steam does not understand it

Hi there, Myshra I'll do that later on and check back. It's clearly being blocked, so maybe some kind of VPN might function as a work around.

Nikumba, I don't think the age restriction is barring the steam client, but you never know..
